Really is it time to think of Christmas shopping already??? But its always so hard to think of something useful, tasteful, original, AND inexpensive for all those people on my list. Well, Julie sent me this fabulous idea for Christmas that can eliminate the headache of Christmas shopping AND make the holiday more meaningful:
"For Christmas this year buy less things and make a charitable donation instead." Here is a link to her blog post that lists some worthy causes. Thanks Julie!

Please comment if you have additional causes OR if you have ideas for making the holidays more about service and less about gift giving.

I already have all of my shopping done!!! whoo hoo! except for my dad and father-in-law. those are always the hardest gifts to think of. so, if anyone has any good ideas on that, let me know!
Every year we adopt a family we know who could use a little extra holiday cheer. Then we secretly "Kringle Jingle" them for 12 days, ending on Christmas Eve. Not just gifts, but stories, carolers, and more. It's SO FUN, and adds to the spirit of the season (especially since our kids get into the tradition now). Planning starts extra early.
Oh wait, maybe I shouldn't let the secret out! Please don't blow our cover.
I know several families who concentrate on giving homemade gifts at Christmas. Here is a blog I like to read that has some ideas on this: http://www.simplyvintagegirl.com/blog/index.php/category/a-homemade-christmas/
