Videos on the Blog

From Rachel:
"I am having a dickens of a time getting a video posted on my blog. Basic question, how do you do it?

Here's what I've gone through already... I learned how to convert my .mod files to .avi since blogger only accepts certain kinds. I've edited my video to less than 100MB since that's the limit blogger accepts. I've tried uploading it to blogger by clicking on "new post" and the video link. For about 3 hours, it says the video will appear when its complete, but it never happens. I have no idea what the deal is!!!

Any blog video geniuses out there?"

Glad it worked for you. That does seem like forever. My problem is we have an HD video camera so the video files are massive. How do you edit your videos to be less than 100MB? Did you just cut the length down?
What I've done to get around it is I just upload them to YouTube and then embed them in the blog post. The downside is you have to make the video public on YouTube. I'm thinking there are so many videos on there that the chances anyone will watch videos of my kids are pretty small!

You can compress a video file through Windows Movie Maker. I just went through this, and this site made it super easy to do.

This speeds the upload time up too. Also, your internet connection can affect the upload. High speed is the way to go! Good luck!
