OK-Some of you have really nice weather by now but a lot of us are still getting rain now and then. By this point in the year it seems like we've exhausted all of our indoors kids activities. So I thought maybe if everyone posted their favorite indoors activity, there would be a list of things to try and we can make it through the drizzly days.
My favorite thing away from home has to be going to the library. I take my kids to the library pretty much every week. Its free and most libraries have story times that are fun to attend. Plus by getting new books every week it really encourages them to enjoy reading. For those of you that live around me here is the link to the libraries website if you want story time info.

My favorite thing to do away from home is to take my kids to IKEA. They have a free childcare area that my kids LOVE. We go every Friday and they look forward to it all week.
My kids like putting stickers all over their coloring books or glueing beans to paper. They also like playing don't-let-the-balloon-hit-the-floor. When I need a break from them I put them in the tub and sit next to them to read a book. Another favorite is cutting out sugar cookies and putting sprinkles on.
We love either going to the mall because they have a free indoor play place- kinda like mcdonalds and its free!! Raylee likes to meet new friends or sometimes we meet up with friends there! Not to mention for $2 they also have a carousel they she sometimes rides. We also like to play games at home- like candyland, shoots and ladders- things like that. It encourages Raylee to learn her colors and learn to be patient and wait for her turn!! Its nice to kill 2 birds with one stone!
We love playing Don't Eat Pete as a family (if you don't know what this is, let me know). We also do a lot of girly things like playing salon (which Mark also gets to participate in!) and having fashion shows. When I am feeling patient, I will set up all of their stuffed animals around their playroom as their classmates and give them a "lesson" in a mock school setting. They love it, but it gets old for me much sooner than it does for them. If it is raining outside (which lately I feel as if I am living in Seattle with the rainfall here-uggghh!), we will have an indoor picnic and set up a blanket on the living or playroom floor. Then, after we are done eating we play "What's Your Favorite?" It is a simple game we just made up one day and my girls absolutely love playing it. We go around the circle and ask questions, like: What's your favorite fruit or color or animal or game or song or whatever. They love to hear my answers and I love to see what questions they come up with!
