One thing I am so, so, so horrible at is cooking dinner. Well, really, I go through phases. Some weeks I do a meal plan and grocery shop accordingly and try really hard and make some semi-ok meals. Other times its, sadly, cereal for dinner. So I'm wondering if anybody has a good cookbook that involves 1) quick preparation, and 2) everyday ingredients? Or maybe even just one loved recipe to share?
Also, I have never tried the freezer meal thing mostly because I don't have much freezer space and I just don't know what to do. Anybody know of a good freezer meal cookbook or how-to book?
Or does anybody just have some good tips on how to actually get dinner made?

One of my favorite cookbooks is "Three and Four Ingredient Cookbook." It has been great for trying new recipes, considering you don't have to buy a shopping cart full of things you may never use again. Some of my favorites are Paprika Pork or Honey Mustand Chicken (just pour equal parts honey and mustard over chicken thighs and bake!).
I have never found a cookbook that has more than just a few recipes that I like! So, I sort of compiled all of my favorite family recipes, things I have found online, and favorites from cookbooks. I'll email you some of my favs. :-)
From my cousin Tristan:
There is a book called "Dinner is Ready" and you can buy it off of www.30meals.com. It teaches you how to make 30 freezer meals in one day so you have dinner ready for the whole month. I love it!!! It's especially helpful for when you have a new baby.
I think the trick to dinners is to do what you mentioned-have a plan and shop accordingly. Unfortunately I don't always do this. I got a freezer meal recipe book from enrichment one night. I will have to make you a copy and give it to you. What I decided was that I was not up to making a whole months worth of meals at once, but now whenever I make a meal that freezes well, I often make double and freeze half for next time. I think crockpots are a great way to make a quick meal that is ready whenever you are. To make crockpot dinners even easier, use a liner for easy clean up and put your meat in frozen.
