My sister wanted to see if anyone out there has any great ideas for a super comfortable couch that could use a little updating.
"We have some really ugly, ugly most comfortable couches ever. I have a love hate relationship with them. I tried to buy some slip covers but they fit horrible and always slipped off and get tangled.I hated them more than the ugly fabric on the couch."
Does anybody know what she could try? She is handy with a sewing machine but doesn't know much about reupholstering. She would love any suggestions!

a girl in my ward re-did her whole couch and it looks amazing. She has pictures on facebook. Her name is Becky Fergus Bluemel and she is one of the nicest people in the world. Just tell her that you are a friend of mine and she'll tell you everything you need to know.
Thanks that would be cool.
I thought the easiest way to share what I did was post about it on my blog. So check it out and pass along the link to your sister.

This is the only reupholstering I have ever done, so she needn't feel like she has to have experience. I totally understand her frustration with a love/hate couch relationship. Anyways, I'd be happy to answer any other questions you or she might have.
Thanks so much for putting your reupholstering in a blog. I am not so scared to try it now. Now just to find fabric that does not cost a fortune. Thanks again.
You should check out Fabric Depot. Its the Portland store she mentioned in her post, that I MISS! But they do have an online store.
www.fabricdepot.com
And the other day I was ordering some fabric from www.fabric.com and as a last minute thought I decided to check out www.retailmenot.com to see if they had a current coupon code. I used the code 3PLTRY9 and got 30% off my order of $50 or more. Score!!!
I've heard that people get good deals on craigslist if that is an option also. Good luck!
I remember Mom reupholstering one of our couches. You should ask her about it.
Thanks for the tips on where to get fabric and Abbie I had forgotten that but you are right. That old pull out right?
